I AM……A POT

i am a lump of clay,
i am shappen with care,
i am burnt with love,
i am a fine pot.

i look over from my shelf,
i tip over and fall to my side,
i am mishappen,
i am still a pot.

i look over to the ground,
i stand close to the edge,
i fall with a crash,
i am a broken pot.

i am picked with care,
i am broken to smaller pieces in love,
i am boiled in tears,
i am no longer a pot.

i am a lump of clay,
i am worked and shappen with care,
i am burnt with love,
i am a new pot.

the bible says {I saiah18:2} Arise, and go down to the potter’s
house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. {18:3}
Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he
wrought a work on the wheels. {18:4} And the vessel that
he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he
made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter
to make it.

when all is said  and done We have a more than capable and loving potter.

from me to you.

    sobriety is an urban myth
    who is a clear head?
Sage the drunk or an irate reverend
    fresh or wasted
    i am a fine potHEAD

    armed with icy persistence
    new tatoos: Skeleton and Rehab
    Cuffed to the dreaded medic
    Relapse
    i am still a potHEAD

    they raid my stash often
    the officer,my brother,the cockroches
a fever and no savings-withdrawal symptoms
    savage abandon
    i am a broken potHEAD

    dust myself off and up
    Angel dust
4:20 train doesn’t take me there
I need fresh air. Amsterdamian fresh air
i am no longer a potHEAD

    unable to relieve an itch
glassy, sunken eyes stare down the ceiling
    about to OD anytime
    Highest Point in my Life
    i am a new potHead
